WEEK 1: July 30-August 5, 2014
Human Rights, Conflict Resolution, and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)
In this session I will introduce some of the basic concepts that link and differentiate the activities of the fields of human rights, conflict resolution, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR). I will also provide a brief overview of the role of addressing human rights throughout different conflict stages: conflict prevention, conflict management, and conflict resolution.
To complete this session please follow these steps by August 5th:
- Post your introductions on the Getting to Know Each Other Forum
- Read the week’s assigned readings in order
- Attend the live webinar or watch the recording. The date and time of the webinar will be communicated approximately one week in advance via email (please calculate the time in your region). The recording will be made available in this space, after the webinar
- Post your answer to the forum question below in the Assignments area by August 5th
* The best way to make this course an interactive conversation, is to always respond to the Course Forum questions under each question; and that we "Add a new discussion topic" only if we're starting a new topic. If you have any questions about this, please email Olga Izquierdo at oizquierdo@upeace.org for any technical support - I'm sure she'll explain any questions you may have!
